Farmed for their edible roots as well as their therapeutic benefits. Frequently added to almost any slow-simmering dish to increase the nutritional value. By boosting one body’s production of white blood cells, it is utilised as an adaptogen and a natural immunity booster. It is used to cure a range of illnesses, including exhaustion, allergies, and the common cold, and is said to extend life.
Planting tip: Seed stratification is required for 3 weeks. To encourage germination, seeds require a 21-day cold stratification period, followed by moderate scarification. Sow seeds mid to late winter. Soak seeds in water for an hour before planting, then softly push into the soil or cover with a thin layer (1/8-1/4 inch) “deep). When transplanting, space plants approximately 15” apart.
Harvesting tip: Before collecting the rootstock for medicinal, it must grow for two years. That leaves plenty of rootstocks for the plant as well as a substantial harvest for medicine making. Harvest more than 30 percent of the small roots that surround the main taproot for harvesting year after year.

Cultivée pour ses racines comestibles ainsi que ses bienfaits thérapeutiques. Fréquemment ajoutée à presque tous les plats mijotés pour augmenter la valeur nutritionnelle. En stimulant la production de globules blancs du corps, elle est utilisée comme adaptogène et comme stimulant naturel de l’immunité. Ensemencement: La stratification des semences est nécessaire pendant 3 sem..
