ID: 23986 | Planting Tip: Sow seeds indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost. Harvesting Tip: In late summer, the gourd’s ripe when its skin’s exceedingly hard, impossible to dent with a fingernail. Another indicator’s when the stem & leaves begin to wither and turn brown. Keep ~2″ of stem when removing. Storage Tip: Cure gourds in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area for several months until they feel lightweight and rattle when shaken. Store cured gourds in a cool, dry place. |
