Bird’s Eye Chilli Pepper is a compact, prolific hot pepper valued for its intense heat, upright fruiting habit, and bold flavour, making it well suited to small spaces. Originating in India and Southeast Asia, it produces slender, pointed 1–2″ pods that grow upright toward the sun, a hallmark of true Bird’s Eye types. Fruits ripen from green to vivid red and deliver a sharp, clean, slightly citrusy heat that hits quickly and lingers, ideal for fresh use, drying, pickling, and spice blends.
