A striking, ornamental corn variety with deep blue kernels that darken to near black when mature. This heirloom corn is known for its excellent popping quality and is a favorite for fall decorations and crafts. It thrives in well-drained soil and requires consistent moisture throughout the growing season. The stalks grow to about 4-6 feet in height. ID: 63832 | Planting Tip: Direct sow as soon as the soil has warmed up to 19°C. Harvesting Tip: Harvest when ear silks have dried out and kernels are full and filled up and appropriate colour has appeared. Storage Tip: After harvesting, pull all the husks back at one end of the ear. Bundle a few corns in this manner, tie the husks together w/ a string, and hang them in a dry, well-ventilated location for a few weeks. |
