Dramatic modern cross producing chocolate-brown pods with lighter amber tiger stripes — the colouring deepens as fruits ripen from green through orange. Rich, fruity, slightly smoky flavour beneath a clean medium-high heat. Excellent fresh in salsas, or slow-roasted where the chocolate tones develop a depth similar to ancho. A collector’s showpiece as striking in the garden as on the plate. Vitamins+: A, B6, C+++., K+., Capsaicin. Companions: Alliums, Basil, Tomato, Spinach, Oregano, Marjoram, Nasturtium, Marigold. Far from: Beans, Brassicas, Fennel. GaiaOrganics.ca |
