Dark purplish-bronze foliage. Excellent for seasoning, and for basil vinegar which turns a beautiful red colour. Former All-American award winner, famous for its pure dark purple foliage, but in recent years it has become about 25% green.
Companion plants: Tomato, Peppers, Asparagus, Oregano, Purslane. 
Far from: Rue.
Planting tip: Sow seeds 6 weeks before the last frost. Germination can take up to 8-14 days.Soaking in warm water for up to 12H is recommended for improved germination.
Harvesting tip: Pinch leaves as needed and encourages the plant to produce more. Flower impacts flavour so, harvest before. Encourage second-growth by cutting down 6” above ground.
Storage tip: Store at 0°C unwashed as washing turns them brown.

Feuillage violet-bronze foncé. Excellent pour l’assaisonnement ainsi pour le vinaigre de basilic, qui lui donne une belle couleur rouge. Ancien lauréat du prix All-American, célèbre pour son feuillage violet foncé pur, mais ces dernières années, il est devenu environ à 25% vert.
Plantes compagnes: Tomate, Poivron, Asperge, Origan, Pourpier.
Loin de: Rue.
Ensemencement: Semer les graines 6 sem. avant le dernier gel. La germination peut prendre jusqu’à 8-14 jours.
Récolte: Pincez les feuilles au besoin et encouragez la plante à produire davantage. L’éclosion de la fleur a un impact sur le goût, donc, récoltez avant. Encouragez la seconde croissance en coupant à 6″.
Entreposage: Conservez à 0°C sans les laver car le lavage les fait brunir.
