Giorgion Radicchio (Cichorium intybus) is a robust, flavorful variety of radicchio known for its deep red, compact heads with a slightly bitter taste and crunchy texture. This variety thrives in cooler temperatures, where it can be grown as a fall or early spring crop. They offer excellent disease resistance and high-quality leaves, making it ideal for both salads and cooking. Its beautiful color and unique flavor add both visual appeal and a gourmet touch to any garden or kitchen.

Planting tip: Start indoors 2 weeks before planting outside.||Transplant as soon as soil can be worked in spring or transplant after the summer heat has passed, mid-August in our region. Tastes bitter in a warmer growing °T but taste gets better in cooler °T. Be warned that it needs cold °T to change colours.
Harvesting tip: Cut young, tender leaves for fresh greens for consuming right away. Flavour diminishes when stored or dried. Roots can be harvested after four months of growth.
