The Highbush Cranberry is a versatile deciduous shrub celebrated for its ornamental appeal and ecological benefits. With its maple-like, three-lobed leaves, it offers vibrant seasonal interest: white lace-cap flowers in late spring, clusters of bright red berries in late summer to fall, and striking red to purple foliage in autumn. Bright red drupes mature in late summer to early fall. While tart and somewhat bitter when raw, they are rich in vitamin C and can be used in jams, jellies, and sauce… Vitamins+: B9, C++, K+ Companions: Blueberry, Rhododendron, Potentilla, Strawberry, Rose.
