8’ tall stem. 12-18” flower heads that has golden-yellow petals with dark purple-green center. Rare heirloom variety the Hopis. Hopis used as natural dye source for coloring baskets purplish charcoal. Seeds are edible and very easy to hull. Mound soil at the base of the stem to prevent lodging. Attractive to pollinators. Keep at least 12″ from all other plants (impedes their growth). Vitamins+: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9+, E++, Cu, Mg, P, Se++, Protein.
