8’ tall stem. 12-18” flower heads that has golden-yellow petals with dark purple-green center. Rare heirloom variety the Hopis. Hopis used as natural dye source for coloring baskets purplish charcoal. Seeds are edible and very easy to hull. Mound soil at the base of the stem to prevent lodging. Attractive to pollinators. Keep at least 12″ from all other plants (impedes their growth).

Tige de 8′ de haut. Les têtes de fleurs de 12 à 18 pouces ont des pétales jaune-doré avec un centre violet-vert foncé. Rare variété patrimoniale des Hopis. Les Hopis l’utilisaient comme source de teinture naturelle pour colorer leurs paniers à charbon violets. Les graines sont comestibles et très faciles à décortiquer. Amonceler la terre à la base de la tige pour éviter que les fleurs tombent. Attire les pollinisateurs. Garder à au moins 12″ d’autres plantes (rallenti leur croissance).
