Originally from Japan, a Kintoki-type carrot. These silky red carrots  have a unique texture and flavor that is intensely sweet and slightly melon-like. Every new year in Kyoto, Japan, where they are customarily consumed & frequently carved to resemble plum blossoms to symbolize fertility for the upcoming year.  Often used for roasting, grilling, dessert, and fresh juice! Best-tasting carrot on the market!

Harvesting tip: Harvest when carrot reaches the right color & flavor. They last 3 weeks in fields at full maturity in summer and longer in winter.
