Minnesota Midget Melon

Minnesota Midget Melon | Ecologically grown
Cucumis melo | Annual | Heirloom

Unlike other melons with vines that can sprawl everywhere, this cute little melon is much more compact and better behaved. Vines get only 3ft long which makes it a good choice for small urban gardens. The melons get only 4 inches, which fits nicely in the palm of the hand. The orange flesh is thick, meaty and very sweet.

Planting tip: Direct seed 1-2 weeks after the last frost. One can also start indoors 4 weeks before the planting date.

Harvesting tip: Harvest when yellow

Storage tip: Ripe melon lasts 4 weeks in cold storage.
