Unlike other melons with vines that can sprawl everywhere, this cute little melon is much more compact and better behaved. Vines get only 3ft long which makes it a good choice for small urban gardens. The melons get only 4 inches, which fits nicely in the palm of the hand. The orange flesh is thick, meaty and very sweet.
Companion plants: Marigold, Lettuce, Radish, Catnip, Alliums, Corn, Dill, Sunflower, Peas, Oregano, Nasturtium. 
Far from: Cucumber, Potato.
Planting tip: Soak in warm water up to 24H & scarify for improved germination. Direct seed 1-2 weeks after last frost. Can also start indoors 4 weeks before the planting date.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when yellow. For peak flavor, harvest fruits when slightly under-ripe, before the rind turns yellow and the fruit softens.
Storage tip: Ripe melon lasts 4 weeks in cold storage.

Contrairement à d’autres melons avec des vignes qui peuvent s’étendre partout, ce mignon petit melon est beaucoup plus compact et mieux se comporter. Vignes obtenir seulement 3ft de long qui en fait un bon choix pour les petits jardins urbains. Les melons ne font que 4 pouces, ce qui tient bien dans la paume de la main. La chair orange est épaisse, charnue et très sucrée.
Plantes compagnes: Tagète, laitue, radis, cataire, alliums, maïs, aneth, tournesol, pois, origan, capucine.
Loin de: Concombre, Patate.
Ensemencement: Tremper en eau chaude jusqu’à 24H et scarifier pour mieux germer. Semer directement 1 à 2 sem. après le dernier gel. On peut aussi démarrer à l’intérieur 4 sem. avant la date de plantation.
Récolte: Récolter quand il est jaune
Entreposage: Le melon mûr se conserve 4 semaines au froid.
