Introduced by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange in 1987. Foliage and fruits are spotted with yellow, just like the original Van Doren strain, but flesh is yellow and seeds are white. Sweet fruits up to 24″ long and 16 pounds in weight. Shows some tolerance to disease and drought.

Vitamins+: B1, B6, C++, K+, Lycopene
Companion plants: Radish, Corn, Garlic, Nasturtium, Pumpkin, Squash.
Far from: Potato.
Planting tip: Soaking in warm water for up to 12H & scarification is recommended for improved germination. Sow indoors 2 weeks before transplanting outside. Direct sow or ||plant outside when soil °T is above 21°C.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when tendril near the fruit is dried and brown.
Storage tip: Store at 7°C and at 85% humidity for up to 3 weeks.

Introduite par Southern Exposure Seed Exchange en 1987. Le feuillage et les fruits sont tachetés de jaune, tout comme la souche originale Van Doren, mais la chair est jaune et les graines sont blanches. Fruits sucrés jusqu’à 24″ de long et pèsent 16 livres. Montre une certaine tolérance aux maladies et à la sécheresse.

Plantes compagnes: Radis, Maïs, Ail, Capucine, Citrouille, Courge.
Loin de: Patate.
Ensemencement: Pour une meilleure germination, il est recommandé de faire tremper les graines dans de l’eau tiède pendant 12 heures maximum et de les scarifier. Semez à l’intérieur deux sem. avant de repiquer à l’extérieur. Semez directement en pleine terre ou plantez en extérieur lorsque la °T du sol est supérieure à 21 °C.
