This mix features large, semi-double blooms in shades of gold, orange, apricot, yellow, and cream. The plant readily reseeds itself, offering a continuous display of cheerful color. Its petals are edible and can add color to dishes. It is an old-fashioned heirloom variety. Calendula petals are edible, but remove the flower base before eating. Calendula look great in patio containers, bloom all summer.

Companion plants: Chard, Lettuce, Tomato, Carrot, Thyme, Parsley, Cucumber, Peas, Asparagus, Radish, Peppers.

Planting tip: Soak in warm water for up to 12H to help germination. Sow indoors 3-4 weeks before planting or direct sow in early spring.||Pinch back young plants to encourage bushy growth. Keep plants watered, but try to avoid overhead watering as they’re susceptible to mildew. Pinch plant at 9” height for vigorous growth. For a longer bloom period, deadhead spent flowers.
Harvesting tip: Harvest in morning after dew has dried, when blossoms are half-open.
Storage tip: Dry flower heads in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. Store dried petals in airtight containers away from light. Retains medicinal properties for up to 1 year.

Ce mélange présente de grandes fleurs semi-doubles aux nuances d’or, d’orange, d’abricot, de jaune et de crème. La plante se ressème facilement, offrant ainsi une floraison continue et joyeuse. Ses pétales sont comestibles et peuvent agrémenter les plats. C’est une variété ancienne et rustique. Les pétales de calendule sont comestibles, mais il faut retirer la base de la fleur avant de consommer. La calendule va bien dans les pots de patio, fleurit tout l’Été.

Ensemencement: Faites tremper les graines dans de l’eau tiède pendant 12 heures maximum pour favoriser la germination. Semez à l’intérieur 3 à 4 sem. avant la plantation ou directement en pleine terre au début du printemps. Pincez les jeunes plants pour encourager leur croissance dense. Arrosez régulièrement, mais évitez l’arrosage par aspersion, car ils sont sensibles à l’oïdium. Pincez les plants à 23 cm de hauteur pour une croissance vigoureuse. Pour une floraison plus longue, supprimez les fleurs fanées.
Récolte: Récoltez le matin après que la rosée ait séché, lorsque les fleurs sont mi-ouvertes.
Entreposage: Séchez les fleurs dans un endroit frais, sombre et bien aéré. Conservez les pétales séchés dans des récipients hermétiques, à l’abri de la lumière. Les fleurs conservent leurs propriétés médicinales jusqu’à un an.
