This mix features large, semi-double blooms in shades of gold, orange, apricot, yellow, and cream. The plant readily reseeds itself, offering a continuous display of cheerful color. Its petals are edible and can add color to dishes. It is an old-fashioned heirloom variety. Calendula petals are edible, but remove the flower base before eating. ID: 63710 | Planting Tip: Pinch back young plants to encourage bushy growth. Keep plants watered, but try to avoid overhead watering as they’re susceptible to mildew. Pinch plant at 9” height for vigorous growth. For a longer bloom period, deadhead spent flowers. Harvesting Tip: Harvest in morning after dew has dried, when blossoms are half-open. Storage Tip: Dry flower heads in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. Store dried petals in airtight containers away from light. Retains medicinal properties for up to 1 year. |
