Penis Pepper, commonly known as Peter Pepper (Capsicum annuum), is an heirloom chili pepper renowned for its distinctive phallic shape. This unique appearance has earned it various nicknames, including “Chilly Willy” and “Willy Chilly.” The pepper measures approximately 3 to 4 inches (7.5 to 10 cm) in length and 1 to 1.5 inches (2.5 to 3.8 cm) in width when fully mature.
It ripens from green to vibrant red or yellow, depending on the variety. With a Scoville heat rating between 10,000 and 23,000 SHU, it surpasses the heat of a typical jalapeño, aligning more closely with serrano peppers. Its fruity, slightly sweet flavor complements salsas, hot sauces, and pickled preparations.Due to its rarity and unique form, it is a conversation starter in gardens and kitchens alike, appealing to both chili enthusiasts and novelty collectors.
