An annual that is well-liked in shaded gardens because of its eye-catching, painted foliage. The rainbow type of coleus, which spans the entire colour spectrum from cream to deep crimson, is well-known. If you want them to remain compact, the flower buds must be removed. If they bloom they tend to become leggy.

Companion plants: Basil, Rosemary, Mint.
Planting tip: Plant indoors ~10 weeks before the last frost.||Transplant outside after the last frost. Thrives in well-drained soil. Pinch growing shoots of young plants frequently to encourage branching & bushier growth. Fertilize in mid-summer. Cut off flower spikes in late summer to extend its’ life.
Harvesting tip: Pinch off flower spikes as soon as they appear to direct energy to leaf production and maintain bushy, colorful foliage.

Une plante annuelle très appréciée dans les jardins ombragés en raison de son feuillage peint qui attire le regard. Le type arc-en-ciel de coleus, qui couvre tout le spectre des couleurs, du crème au cramoisi foncé, est bien connu. Si vous souhaitez qu’elles restent compactes, les boutons floraux doivent être pincés. S’ils fleurissent, ils ont tendance à devenir longs.

Plantes compagnes: Basilic, Romarin, Menthe.
Ensemencement: Le coléus peut être semé à l’intérieur environ 10 sem. avant les dernières gelées. Une fois tout risque de gel écarté, repiquez-le à l’extérieur. Il prospère dans un sol bien drainé. Pincez régulièrement les jeunes pousses pour favoriser la ramification et une croissance plus dense. Fertilisez en milieu d’été. Coupez les hampes florales en fin d’été pour prolonger la durée de vie de la plante.
Récolte: Pincez les hampes florales dès leur apparition afin de concentrer l’énergie sur la production de feuilles et de maintenir un feuillage touffu et coloré.
