Healthy green tops with slender bulbs. Excellent for fresh harvest, doesn’t dry well in field and will not store well. Mild, sweet flavor is great for pickling and using raw in salads. ID: 45240 | Planting Tip: Start indoors 10-12 weeks before transplanting date. Trim to 1” when it reaches 5” to increase thickness. Harvesting Tip: When tops dry up & fall over harvest for storage variety. Cure for 3-5 days in the fields. Alternatively, cure in greenhouse at 23-26°C & 80% humidity. Storage Tip: Cool and dry slowly to stretch dormancy period. Can also store in root cellar at 0-1°C and 65-70% humidity. |
