In the late summer, round zucchini, a colourful heirloom squash variety, is great for stuffing, baking, and serving as a nutritious side dish. Bush type squash  produces 3″ spherical, yellow-fleshed fruits that are delicious and lovely. Summer squash that grows quickly &  yields a lot. Ideal for growing in compact areas.
Companion plants: Corn, Pole beans, Peas, Radish, Sunflower, Parsley, Celery, Buckwheat, Nastertium, Marigold, Oregano. 
Far from: Tomato, Eggplant, Potato, Pepper.
Planting tip: Soak in warm water up to 24H & scarify to improve germination. direct-seed late May, early June, when soil reaches 25°C. Can start indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost, move outside once soil reaches 25°C.
Harvesting tip: Mature fruit has a rich color & rinds are hard to dent with a fingernail. The ground spot gets riper in color too (yellow to cream, gold to orange). Cut 2” stem to avoid rot from the stem. Must cure in dry and warm place.
Storage tip: Store at 10-12°C w/ 55-75% humidity & good air flow.

À la fin de l’été, cette variété ronde et colorée de zucchini patrimonial, est idéale pour farcir, cuisiner et servir de plat d’accompagnement nutritif. Cette courge à port buissonnant produit des fruits sphériques de 3 po à chair jaune qui sont délicieux et charmants. Une courge d’été qui pousse rapidement et donne beaucoup de rendement. Idéale pour la culture dans les espaces compacts.
Plantes compagnes: Maïs, haricots grimpants, pois, radis, tournesol, persil, céleri, sarrasin, capucine, souci, origan.
Loin de: Tomate, aubergine, patate, poivron.
Ensemencement: Tremper dans l’eau chaude jusqu’à 24H et scarifier pour mieux germer. Planter directement dehors, fin mai, début juin, quand le sol atteint 25°C. Peut débuter à l’intérieur 3-4 sem. avant le dernier gel. Planter dehors quand le sol atteint 25°C.
Récolte: Les fruits mûrs ont une couleur riche, une écorce difficile à creuser avec l’ongle. La couleur de la tache au sol devient plus mûre aussi (jaune à crème, or à orange). Couper à 2″ de tige pour éviter la pourriture par la tige. Mûrir dans un endroit sec et chaud.
Entreposage: Stocker à 10-12°C, 55-75% d’humidité et une bonne circulation d’air.
