The beloved Japanese Shishito takes a fiery turn when left to ripen to red. These slender, wrinkled little pods are mostly mild and sweet — but every so often, one sneaks in a bold kick of heat. Perfect blistered in a hot pan with olive oil and flaky salt. Vitamins+: A, B6, C+++., K+., Capsaicin. Companions: Alliums, Basil, Tomato, Spinach, Oregano, Marjoram, Nasturtium, Marigold. Far from: Beans, Brassicas, Fennel. GaiaOrganics.ca |
