ID: 50576 | Planting Tip: Transplant when seedlings are 5-6″ tall. Plant outside in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. Harvesting Tip: Harvest roots in the second year after the plant has turned yellow and died back to the ground. Roots can also be harvested in spring before plants begin to flower. Dry roots in a warm area. Storage Tip: After the vegetative growth starts to turn yellow and die back to the ground in the second year, roots are dug. Before the plant bolts and blooms in the spring, roots can also be dug. Roots should be washed and dried in a warm location 38°C. |
