Wellington Black Currant is a vigorous, productive bush that yields large, flavorful berries. It is a hardy variety, well-suited for colder climates. The berries are excellent for fresh eating, jams, and juices.

Harvesting tip: Harvest when berries are fully colored and slightly soft. Gently pull or snip entire clusters from stems. Harvest in the morning after dew has dried.
Storage tip: Refrigerate fresh berries unwashed for up to 1 week. Freeze for longer storage up to 1 year. Wash only when ready to use.

Le cassis Wellington est un arbuste vigoureux et productif qui donne de grosses baies savoureuses. C’est une variété rustique, bien adaptée aux climats froids. Ses baies sont excellentes à déguster fraîches, en confitures et en jus.

Plantes compagnes: Myrtille, Romarin, Menthe, Ciboulette.
Loin de: Pomme de Terre, Chou, Fraise, Framboise, Rose.
Ensemencement: Semez les graines à l’intérieur 8 à 10 sem. avant les dernières gelées, ou multipliez-les par bouturage. La stratification à froid est bénéfique. Repiquez après les dernières gelées. Elles préfèrent un sol humide, légèrement acide et une exposition mi-ombragée.
Récolte: Récoltez les baies lorsqu’elles sont bien colorées et légèrement tendres. Détachez délicatement les grappes entières des tiges par arrachage ou par coupe. Récoltez le matin après la disparition de la rosée.
Entreposage: Conservez les baies fraîches non lavées au réfrigérateur pendant une semaine maximum. Congelez-les pour une conservation plus longue, jusqu’à un an. Lavez-les uniquement au moment de les utiliser.
