Originated in Japan, mildly bitter tasting than regular bitter melon. Rare to find its pearly white skin has medicinal properties to regulate blood sugar and prevent diabetes. A dietary staple in Okinawa, Japan where is said to contribute to the longevity of people. Fruit averages 8-10 inches long. Often added to soups or shaved thin and eaten raw.
