A cross between âPersianâ and âCurlyâ cress, the leaves of this unique type are held erect for easy cutting and cleaner product. The texture it’s leaves give unexpected heft and toothsomeness for a little garden cress. Reported to be the last variety to bolt in comparative trials, meaning more cuts per sowing. And a good name. ID: 24451 | Planting Tip: Direct sow in early spring, 4-6 weeks before last frost, or grow inside year-round. Matures in 40-50 days, but harvest can begin 15 days after sowing. Keep soil weed-free. Pinch cress back to promote new foliage. Harvesting Tip: Cut or pinch out cress tip as needed, cut-and-come-again. Begin cutting once 3-4″ high. Plants cut back to œ” will regrow quickly. Cress is tenderest at the early seed-leaf stage; harvest cress well before it matures. Sprouts can also be used. Storage Tip: Best consumed fresh. Store in the refrigerator wrapped in a damp paper towel for up to 3-5 days. |
