About the Workshop:

Join Božena Hrycyna for a hands-on intro to scything workshop at the beautiful Gaia Organics farm! This 4-hour morning session is perfect for beginners and those curious about traditional, low-impact mowing techniques.

Learn the fundamentals of:

Setting up and handling a scythe

Proper mowing technique

Sharpening and maintaining your blade

Scything in tall grasses, clover, and mixed weedy areas

This workshop takes place during the coolest part of the day, on dewy morning grass, which is ideal for scything practice.—🌿

What to Bring

Gloves, Sun hat, Closed-toe shoes, Long-sleeved shirt (preferably linen or cotton), Water bottle, Notebook (optional)

Scythes will be provided for practice. Participants can also inquire about purchasing a scythe on site.

Minimum 4 participants required to run the workshop.

Božena will bring additional scythes for practice and lending.If you’d like to borrow rather than purchase a scythe, please confirm by July 21st.
