Strongly fragrant plant that grows wild in the Balkans, primarily in the Dinaric Alps from northeastern Italy to Albania. On hot days, one can smell the plant from a great distance because to its strong aroma. It has been used for its powerful antibacterial and antifungal qualities as a tea and as a condiment in cuisine since the dawn of time. It attracts pollinators with its profusion of stunning white or light pink blossoms. ID: 50389 | Planting Tip: Pinch off the top sets of leaves regularly starting at the seedling stage for a bushier, healthier plant. Transplant outside when plant is 3-4” tall. Water deeply for a healthy root system. Harvesting Tip: Pick often for higher production. Leaves can be harvested starting first year. Storage Tip: Dry leaves in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place. Store dried mint in airtight containers away from light and heat for up to 1 year. |
