This tomatillo’s pointed shape, lemony yellow colour, and unique sweet-tart flavour make it a versatile culinary ingredient. It is a Mexican heirloom jewel from Malinalco that works well in both savoury and sweet dishes. The fruit can reach a length of 4 inches, and its taste is more akin to a sweet paste tomato combined with husk cherries! The fruit can be eaten raw like an apple or cooked up like tomatoes. It’s used in salsas. Vitamins+: B9+, C++, K, Lycopene Companions: Basil, Cilantro, Garlic, Marigolds, Yarrow, Borage, Onions, Parsley. Far from: Corn, Dill, Potatoes, Eggplants. GaiaOrganics.ca |
