ID: 55241 | Planting Tip: Start indoors 10–12 weeks before last frost with 3 weeks stratification. Moisten mix, surface-sow, bag pots, and freeze 2–7 days. If germination is low after 3–4 weeks, drop temps to 5–10°C for 2 weeks, then warm again. Don’t cover with a plastic lid (too wet). In year 2+, cut back hard in spring as growth starts—never into woody stems. Harvesting Tip: Gather the flowers just as they open. Pick the leaves anytime to use fresh, or if you’re dehydrating lavender leaves, gather before flowering starts. Storage Tip: Hang bundles upside down in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place to dry. Store dried lavender in airtight containers away from light and heat. |
