Compact English lavender with fragrant, deep purple-blue flowers from early to late summer. Grows 12-18 inches tall and wide. Attracts pollinators and is deer resistant. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Excellent for borders, edging, and containers. Hardy to zone 4a.

Companion plants: Rose, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Rue, Cabbage, Mint, Apple, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme.

Planting tip: Start indoors 10–12 weeks before last frost with 3 weeks stratification. Moisten mix, surface-sow, bag pots, and freeze 2–7 days. If germination is low after 3–4 weeks, drop temps to 5–10°C for 2 weeks, then warm again. Don’t cover with a plastic lid (too wet). In year 2+, cut back hard in spring as growth starts—never into woody stems.
Harvesting tip: Gather the flowers just as they open. Pick the leaves anytime to use fresh, or if you’re dehydrating lavender leaves, gather before flowering starts.
Storage tip: Hang bundles upside down in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place to dry. Store dried lavender in airtight containers away from light and heat.

Lavande anglaise compacte aux fleurs parfumées d’un bleu-violet profond, qui s’épanouissent du début à la fin de l’été. Elle atteint 30 à 45 cm de hauteur et de largeur. Attire les pollinisateurs et résiste aux cerfs. Elle préfère le plein soleil et un sol bien drainé. Idéale pour les bordures, les massifs et les pots. Rustique jusqu’en zone 4a.

Ensemencement: Commencez à l’intérieur 10 à 12 sem. avant le dernier gel avec une stratification de 3 sem.. Humidifiez le mélange, semez en surface, couvrez les pots et congelez pendant 2 à 7 jours. Si la germination est faible après 3 à 4 sem., baissez la °T à 5-10 °C pendant 2 sem., puis réchauffez à nouveau. Ne pas recouvrir d’un couvercle en plastique (trop humide). À partir de la deuxième année, tailler sévèrement au printemps dès le début de la croissance, sans jamais couper les tiges ligneuses.
Récolte: Cueillez les fleurs au moment où elles s’ouvrent. Cueillez les feuilles à tout moment pour les utiliser fraîches, ou si vous déshydratez les feuilles de lavande, cueillez-les avant le début de la floraison.
Entreposage: Suspendez les bouquets la tête en bas dans un endroit frais, sombre et bien aéré pour les faire sécher. Conservez la lavande séchée dans des récipients hermétiques, à l’abri de la lumière et de la chaleur.
