Kajari is a melon lover’s dream come true! Its unusual colorful orange and green striped beauty is paired with an aromatic taste similar to that of Honeydew, and it usually produces over 10 mini 2lb melons per plant. This part-sun tolerant melon is a treasured Indian heritage variety introduced to the Americas by Joseph Simcox. Perfect for mini-melon bowls, fruit salads, summer drinks and a vibrant raw snack on its own!
Companion plants: Marigold, Lettuce, Radish, Catnip, Alliums, Corn, Dill, Sunflower, Peas, Oregano, Nasturtium. 
Far from: Cucumber, Potato.
Planting tip: Soak in warm water up to 24H & scarify for improved germination. Direct seed 1-2 weeks after last frost. Can also start indoors 4 weeks before the planting date.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when yellow. For peak flavor, harvest fruits when slightly under-ripe, before the rind turns yellow and the fruit softens.
Storage tip: Ripe melon lasts 4 weeks in cold storage.

Un rêve devenu réalité pour les amateurs de melons ! Sa beauté colorée orange et verte est mariée à un goût aromatique similaire à celui du Honeydew, et il produit généralement plus de 10 mini-melons de 2lb par plante. Ce melon, qui tolère une exposition mi-soleil, est une variété précieuse du patrimoine indien introduite en Amérique par Joseph Simcox. Parfait pour les bols de mini-melons, les salades de fruits, les boissons d’été et les collations crues vibrantes !
Plantes compagnes: Tagète, laitue, radis, cataire, alliums, maïs, aneth, tournesol, pois, origan, capucine.
Loin de: Concombre, Patate.
Ensemencement: Tremper en eau chaude jusqu’à 24H et scarifier pour mieux germer. Semer directement 1 à 2 sem. après le dernier gel. On peut aussi démarrer à l’intérieur 4 sem. avant la date de plantation.
Récolte: Récolter quand il est jaune
Entreposage: Le melon mûr se conserve 4 semaines au froid.
