If you’ve struggled with growing okra in the past, this may be the okra for you. As opposed to most named varieties, which are bred for uniformity, this is a diverse landrace population. The seeds of some plants have very high oil content. Originally collected by the little-known but prolific USDA agricultural explorer E.E. Smith in 1954. Variety adapted to our northeastern region.

Companion plants: Lettuce, Peas, Radish, Pepper, Tomato, Beans, Sunflower, Basil, Melon, Eggplant, Cucumber. 
Far from: Rhubarb, Garlic.
Planting tip: Soaking in warm water for up to 12H is recommended for improved germination. Start indoors 6 weeks before transplanting.||Delicate roots so handle carefully when transplanting. Okra can survive dry conditions but fruits better with adequate water.
Harvesting tip: Harvest often to get more fruits. Harvest every 2-3 days.
Storage tip: Okra pods will keep well for 7-10 days in aerated plastic bag or container at 7-10°C

Ensemencement: Il est recommandĂ© de faire tremper les plants dans de l’eau tiède pendant 12 heures maximum pour une meilleure germination. Commencez les semis Ă  l’intĂ©rieur 6 sem. avant la date de repiquage. Les racines Ă©tant fragiles, manipulez-les avec prĂ©caution lors du repiquage. Le gombo supporte la sĂ©cheresse, mais fructifie bien avec un arrosage rĂ©gulier.
Récolte: Récoltez souvent pour obtenir plus de fruits. Récoltez tous les 2-3 jours.
Entreposage: Les gousses de gombo se conservent bien pendant 7-10 jours dans un sac en plastique aéré ou un récipient à 7-10°C.
