This tomatillo variety yields impressive 3” fruits, marking it as the largest we’ve cultivated. While the larger fruits facilitate quicker harvests, they take an additional month to ripen. Unlike others, these tomatillos remain on the plant until harvested by hand when fully ripe, boasting a yellow-green hue. Known for their extended shelf life, this variety was initially introduced by the Seed Ambassadors Project, originating from tomatillos obtained at the Plaza Latina market in Eugene, OR.
Planting tip: Sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last frost. Transplant outside late spring.
Harvesting tip: Harvest when papery husk that turns from green to brown as they ripen and splits open.

Cette variété de tomatillo produit des fruits impressionnants de 3”, ce qui en fait la plus grosse que nous ayons cultivée. Bien que les fruits plus gros permettent une récolte plus rapide, il leur faut un mois de plus pour mûrir. Contrairement à d’autres, ces tomatillos restent sur la plante jusqu’à ce qu’ils soient récoltés à la main lorsqu’ils sont complètement mûrs, arborant une teinte jaune-vert. Connue pour sa longue durée de conservation, cette variété a été initialement introduite par le projet des ambassadeurs des semences, à partir de tomates obtenues au marché Plaza Latina d’Eugene, dans l’État d’Oregon.
Ensemencement: Semer les graines à l’intérieur 6 sem. avant le dernier gel. Transplanter à l’extérieur à la fin du printemps.
Récolte: Récolter lorsque l’enveloppe papillaire qui passe du vert au brun à mesure qu’elles mûrissent se fend.
