This tall variety of amaranth is a favored leafy green, known for its impressive height and dark green leaves veined in red. Come August, it showcases striking feathery plumes of seed heads. Renowned for its exceptional taste, this amaranth originated from seeds provided by Wisconsin farmer Richard DeWild. Further refinement by Wild Garden Seeds, along with adaptation to the climate in Zone 5 in Canada, has contributed to its popularity.

Far from: Crocus.
Planting tip: Sow 4-6 weeks before the frost. Harden off °T as low as 15°C is tolerable. Ready to transplant outside after the last frost.
Harvesting tip: Leaves are edible and seeds are very nutritious can be used like any other grain. Harvest when flowers are fully open.

Cette grande variété d’amarante est une plante verte feuillue très appréciée, connue pour sa hauteur impressionnante et ses feuilles vertes foncées veinées de rouge. Au mois d’août, elle présente de remarquables panaches de graines plumeuses. Réputée pour son goût exceptionnel, cette amarante provient de graines fournies par Richard DeWild, agriculteur du Wisconsin. Les améliorations apportées par Wild Garden Seeds, ainsi que l’adaptation au climat de la zone 5 au Canada, ont contribué à sa popularité.
Plantes compagnes: Maïs, tagète, patate, oignon, tomate, aubergine, poivron, cataire.
Loin de: Crocus.
Ensemencement: Semer 4 à 6 sem. avant les gels. Une °T aussi basse que 15°C est tolérable. Prêt à transplanter à l’extérieur après le dernier gel.
Récolte: Les feuilles sont comestibles et les graines sont très nutritifs peut être utilisé comme tout autre grain. Récolter lorsque les fleurs sont pleinement ouvertes.
