Planting tip: Start indoors 2 weeks before planting outside. Transplant as soon as soil can be worked in spring or transplant after the summer heat has passed which is mid-August in our region. Tastes bitter in a warmer growing period but the taste gets better in colder °T. Be warned that it needs cold °T to turn colour.
Harvesting tip: Cut young, tender leaves for fresh greens for consuming right away. Flavour diminishes when stored or dried. Roots can be harvested after four months of growth.

Attention, elle a besoin de températures froides pour se colorer.
Plantes compagnes: Laitue, tatsoi, moutarde.
Loin de: Endive, scarole.
Ensemencement: Commencez à l’intérieur 2 sem. avant de planter à l’extérieur. Transplanter dès que le sol peut être travaillé au printemps ou transplanter après que la chaleur de l’été soit passée, soit à la mi-août dans notre région. Le goût est amer pendant une période de croissance plus chaude mais le goût s’améliore avec des °T plus froides. Sachez qu’elle a besoin de °T froides pour se colorer.
Récolte: Coupez les jeunes feuilles tendres pour obtenir des légumes verts frais à consommer immédiatement. La saveur diminue lorsqu’elles sont stockées ou séchées. Les racines peuvent être récoltées après quatre mois de croissance.
