Fava is suitable for colder climates and for early spring planting. It is a classic English bean with 5-6” fleshy pods. The plants grow 3-4’ tall.
Companion plants: Corn, Carrot, Cabbage, Cucumber, Pea, Radish, Potato, Squash, Nasturtium, Rosemary. 
Far from: Alliums, Beets.
Planting tip: Soaking in warm water for up to 8H is recommended for improved germination. Seeds would not germinate if you soak them for longer. Direct seed after all danger of frost has passed. To continuously harvest fresh beans, plant in 3-week intervals.
Harvesting tip: Wait until pods and enclosed seeds have reached complete maturity. For dry beans, allow plenty of space for airflow so they can dry later in the season.
Storage tip: Freezing is best if reserved for dry beans.

La fève convient aux climats plus froids et aux plantations précoces de printemps. C’est une fève anglaise classique avec des gousses charnues de 5-6″. Les plantes atteignent 3-4′ de haut.
Plantes compagnes: Maïs, Carotte, Chou, Concombre, Pois, Radis, Patate, Courge, Capucine, Romarin.
Loin de: Alliums, Betterave.
Ensemencement: Tremper dans de l’eau chaude jusqu’à 8 heures pour améliorer la germination. Les graines mourront si elles sont trempées plus longtemps. Semer directement après la dernière gelée. Pour une récolte continue, planter à intervalles de 3 sem..
Récolte: Attendez que les gousses et les graines enfermées aient atteint une maturité complète. Pour les haricots secs, laissez beaucoup d’espace pour la circulation de l’air afin qu’ils puissent sécher plus tard dans la saison.
Entreposage: Il est mieux de réserver la congélation pour les haricots secs.
